Tope & Spurdogs Everywhere
On the plus side the weather just doesn’t get any better than what we’ve had recently. And there are more Mackerel around than I can remember in many years. This is good.
BUT on the other hand the fishing is really annoying. Offshore it’s Spurdogs everywhere, inshore there are Tope everywhere. Go in to a half way area like I did this trip and you get spoilt by them both. Prior to this day I’d never caught a single Spurdog orTope on this mark, just plenty of Codling, Whiting, Gurnard, the odd Ling, a few small Haddock. But right now any time you put a bait of any sort down odds are you’re catching a Spurdog or Tope.
